Tutorial 2 Practice Portal

About this portal

Educational approach

This portal organises each practice as a sequence of small, observable steps rather than one large assignment. Every step has a single conceptual purpose, a small coding or reasoning task, and its own checks — so feedback stays close to whatever you're actually working on right now.

Hint policy

Hints are set per step, not globally: Off gives you only compiler messages and test results; Guided adds four progressive authored hints (concept, direction, structure, then a small local repair); Tutor adds a contextual conversation on top of Guided. A complete solution is never offered as a hint. The tutor stays focused on your current step, and won't generate the rest of the solution for you.

Tutor mode is backed by a language model and limited to a small number of messages per step so that usage stays predictable. If you reach that limit, or if the tutor is temporarily unavailable, switch to a Guided hint instead — every step can still be completed without it.

Privacy

You can use every practice without an account. Your code, notes, and progress are stored only in this browser's local storage — nothing is sent to a server in this prototype. Clearing your browser data or using a different browser or device will lose your progress.
